Formerly a top fashion model at 5'10'' tall, Carey was a favorite with top American designers such as Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. Her father was the world-renowned geologist, who was awarded the title of Scientist of the year in 1979 by the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists. Because of his work, Carey was raised all over the globe. As she attended in the University of Colorado at part-time and was able to catch the attention of Ford model Agency representative in New York. The model briefly studied and lived in Paris after which she returned in New York. Her modeling as well as her college career took off and she was featured on the covers of Glamour's and Vogue's and many other magazine covers. In between her modeling assignments she was also a full-time student, completing a master's degree in literature at New York University. In time, she began to become interested in acting, and began studying at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York. Her debut as an actor was an appearance in the film with Robin Williams in the 1986 film "Club Paradise. She loves rock climbing as well as skiing and windsurfing.
